Solutions Sealers SILACRYL MATT High Solids Acrylic Sealer

Solutions Sealers Silacryl Matt is a premium solvent-based acrylic sealer that provides a sophisticated matt finish for slate and other porous stone surfaces. This high solids sealer is engineered for durability and long-lasting performance, ensuring your surfaces remain protected and aesthetically pleasing over time. Ideal for porous stone, Silacryl Matt darkens the substrate, enhancing its natural colour while delivering a refined matt look. The sealer forms a protective coating that prevents the ingress of oils and dirt, making maintenance easier and keeping your surfaces in top condition.

Choose Silacryl Matt for a superior matt finish that not only enhances but also protects your slate and porous stone surfaces with its high solids, solvent-based formulation.

Features:

  • Solvent-based matt finish acrylic sealer
  • Suitable for porous stone
  • Darkens substrate and enhances colour
  • Prevents oils and dirt ingress
  • High solids content for long-lasting protection

Uses:

Suitable for internal and external use on slate, sandstone, limestone, concrete pavers, and other porous surfaces.

Preparation:

  • Always test the product on a small area first and allow a 1-hour cure time to determine the ease of application and suitability for your surface type. For new grout, allow 72 hours before application.
  • All surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned with NATURAL CLEAN. Heavily soiled, acid-sensitive surfaces should be cleaned with D-GREASE, while non-acid-sensitive surfaces can be cleaned with D-SCALE. All surfaces should then be neutralized with NATURAL CLEAN.
  • Allow the surface to dry for approximately 24 hours before sealing. Ensure the surface is clean and free of residue and other contaminants.
  • Tape or protect nearby surfaces.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and use the appropriate PPE as per the SDS. Shake or stir contents thoroughly to prevent settling of the matting agent.

Application:

  • Apply when the surface temperature is between 5–35°C. Use Solutions Sealers applicator, microfiber, or paintbrush.
  • For most porous surfaces, mix the first coat with 50% Eversol (Xylene) to aid adhesion to the substrate.
  • 2-3 coats are recommended, with the last coat at 100% strength. Apply the coats slowly without agitation to prevent air bubbles within the coat.
  • Apply a wet coat without leaving pools of sealer. Seal across the area following the wet line. The sealer will tack off in approximately 15 minutes and be ready for another coat within 1-2 hours.
  • Do not allow the sealer to contact painted surfaces, plastic, vinyl, etc.

Coverage:

For porous surfaces, the first coat covers 4-5 square meters per litre; the second and third coats cover 7 and 10 square meters per litre, respectively.
